Crews coming to RI to help homeowners clear debris

National disaster relief crews are coming to Rhode Island to assist homeowners clear debris left by Tropical Storm Irene, the United Way of Rhode Island said Tuesday.

If you have downed trees that need clearing, call United Way 2-1-1 in Rhode Island from any locations 24 hours a day, seven days a week to ask for assistance.

The United Way is working with Serve Rhode Island, which is recruiting volunteers to help with the work. Priority will be given to seniors, disabled persons and people with special needs.
