Despite a couple of last minute changes to the fight card on Friday, Demetrius "Boo Boo" Andrade was able to adjust and take down Angel Hernandez with a second-round knockout at Mohegan Sun Arena.
"We train real hard and I was basically ready for anybody. We wanted to fight a right hander and they got us a south paw and the south paw didn't show up. The manager went to go knock on the door and he didn't answer the door. Hernandez took it and it was frustrating. But I'm going to go in there and let these people know I mean business," Andrade said.
The former Olympian said he's on schedule with his career, sitting with a perfect 16-0 record with 11 KOs.
"I feel good. I'm 16-0 with 11 knockouts, but I can't be upset. But like I said, when I was younger and new to the game, eventually I'm going to get there and now is the time that we are stepping it up little by little, and eventually I'll be fighting elite guys too," he said.
Andrade said once he gets 20 professional fights under his belt, he'd like to go after WBC middleweight champ Julio Ceasar Chavez Jr. Chavez recently defeated Peter Manfredo.
"I think he is a 'B' guy. I don't think he is nothing special to be worried about or say I don't think he is a good fighter or he needs more fights. I think I am ready for him. I've seen his style a hundred times before and I don't think he is bringing anything special to the table. So if they want to make that happen I am willing to do that," Andrade said.
