North Kingstown school holds Super Bowl rally

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Students and faculty at North Kingstown High School held a rally Friday at the school's gym to cheer on the New England Patriots.

"Every Friday, we hold a dress down day for faculty and we decided to expand it to students to show our Patriots pride. In conjunction with that, we are raising money for our real patriots, our veterans of armed services," said Donna Sweet, guidance counselor at North Kingstown High School.

Sweet said the money raised will be donated to the Wounded Warriors Fund.

About 1,600 people dressed in football jerseys to show their Super Bowl spirit. A couple of students wore New York Giants jerseys.

"We did have a Giants fan. Everyone has the opportunity to express their opinion. Football is football," Sweet said.
