A Bristol man is Super Bowl-bound courtesy of a Super Bowl lottery.
Herbie Moitoso is his name, and he's been to the Super Bowl twice before. Winning these tickets for him was a big surprise and he's quite grateful.
"This year I got picked in the Patriots lottery for season-ticket holders," Herbie said.
For 40 years, he's been a Pats fan, and he's been a season-ticket holder since the early 1990s. In 2010, he was named Fan of the Year.
"We've been waiting for four years for this opportunity to get back at the Giants, and we got to win this one for Myra," said Herbie, referring to the late wife of Patriots owner Robert Kraft.
He's leaving Friday afternoon and taking his sons to Indianapolis. He had a room booked for the past year.
The tickets he won have a face-value of $800 each. With his sons, he's already attended Super Bowl games in Houston and Jacksonville, Fla.
"I love going to the games, usually with one of my two sons. We already took my grandson once. My wife goes up once and a while when the weather's warm," Herbie said.
Herbie said the club-seat season-ticket holders are the first to get a chance to win the tickets, and then the lottery opens up for regular season-ticket holders.
Herbie owns a liquor store in Bristol.
