A Fall River Superior Court jury on Friday convicted a Taunton man of first-degree murder in the killing of another man.
The Bristol County district attorney's office said 44-year-old Timothy Cassidy was convicted of shooting and killing 44-year-old James Madonna in November 2007.
Prosecutors said Cassidy didn't want to pay back a $30,000 loan to the victim.
Cassidy was immediately sentenced to serve life in prison with no possibility of parole.
