Swansea police said a man with a gun robbed a gas station.

At about 8:44 p.m. Thursday, a clerk at Ocean Grove Sunoco on Wilbur Avenue called police.

Police said the clerk told them a man with a black handgun entered the building. The robber had a red bandana over his face.

Police said the robber demanded money from the register and left when the clerk handed over an undetermined amount of cash.

The robber left in a tan car, possibly a 1997 or 1998 Nissan Altima.

The clerk described the robber as being in his 30s with a medium build, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt with a red stripe down the middle.

Swansea police asked anyone with information about the robbery to call them at  508-674-8464.
