A Central Falls High School teacher, who is no longer working at the school after recent allegations of misconduct surfaced, was disciplined by school officials in November for inappropriate behavior, NBC 10 has learned.
Sources have told NBC 10 that the 22-year-old female chemistry teacher was allegedly partying with drugs and having sex with one or more of her students.
"It is disturbing if that's what in fact was going on. Wouldn't it be disturbing to you if your son was in there? Or daughter," said parent Ann Johnson.
An employee working at the high school told NBC 10 that school officials knew the teacher was treading on thin ice. The employee said the teacher was disciplined in November for inappropriate activity with students at high school sporting events.
Central Falls School Superintendent Dr. Frances Gallo wouldn't comment on the earlier discipline, but said state police are investigating the case.
On Monday, parents received an automated phone message that said in part, "We believe that the investigators have spoken to all involved people in the situation. The safety of our students, faculty and staff is our top priority, therefore the district has taken immediate action to respond to serious allegations. The employee has been removed from the district."
Charges have not been filed against the teacher, NBC 10 reported.
