Report: Ahlquist plans on graduating from Cranston West

»  Comments | Post a Comment

A 16-year-old girl who won a court battle to have a prayer banner at her school removed is not transferring, the Providence Journal reported.

Jessica Ahlquist said she plans on graduating from Cranston High School West in 2013 as planned.

Ahlquist, a self-described atheist, has been the target of cyberbullying and threats since a federal judge ordered the prayer banner at the school taken down.

The judge said the banner, which has been displayed in the school auditorium since the 1960s, violated the separation of church and state.
