The first phase of the plans to redevelop the Garden City shopping center is moving forward.
On Tuesday night the Cranston Planning Commission approved the plans to build a new 20,000 square foot building, redesign the traffic pattern, and reconfigure the gazebo area.
A second phase of the project will turn some of the larger stores, now vacant, into smaller retail spaces.
