A Rhode Island man was ordered held on bail Thursday on child pornography charges.
Martin Micheo, 68, of West Warwick, was arraigned in Kent County District Court. He was charged for violating his probation stemming from a 2010 drug charge.
State police said a family friend walked into the West Warwick Police Department and made a complaint against Micheo on Jan. 3, alleging the man took nude photos of a 6-year-old.
Using a search warrant, the state police's cyber crimes unit found 40 images of child porn at Micheo's Hepurn Street home, including nude photos of his stepdaughter and granddaughter.
Police said they confiscated two cell phones and a laptop computer along with video. Police said they are still trying to identify some of the children in the pictures.
A judge ordered Micheo not to have contact with any of the alleged victims and not to use the Internet.
