A man became trapped under his car after a crash in Warwick.

The five-car crash occurred on Route 3 at about 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Warwick police said Kyle China, 21, of Warwick, lost control of his 2000 Ford Mustang while driving north on Bald Hill Road. The car crossed into the southbound lane and was struck by a pickup truck. The Mustang eventually came to rest against a parked car in the lot of car dealership.

Police said China was thrown from the car and became trapped under it. China was in stable condition at Rhode Island Hospital.

A second crash at the same location occurred when two other vehicles collided and struck the pickup truck. The drivers in the secondary accident suffered only minor injuries.

The crash is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the Warwick Police Department Traffic Division at 401-468-4343.
