Providence park employee killed in accident

PROVIDENCE -- A city park employee, killed Tuesday morning, when his vehicle overturned has been identified.

Police said Anthony Bento, 45, was driving a motorized hauler when it tipped over in the parking lot of the Botanical Center at Roger Williams Park. The accident happened at about 10 a.m. Bento was taken to Rhode Island Hospital where he later died.

According to the mayor's office, Bento worked for the Department of Parks and Recreation for 22 years.

Mayor David Cicilline expressed his sympathies to the family of the worker and said the city is conducting a review of the accident.
