PROVIDENCE -- A highway exit in Providence is being closed for the weekend so that workers can relocate the ramp.
The state transportation department says Exit 2, or the South Main Street exit, from Interstate 195 West will be closed starting Friday night but will reopen in time for the Monday morning commute.
Officials said the closure is necessary so that they can relocate the ramp for the exit. They're also going to be adding a traffic signal at the end of the ramp.
Officials said they expects more highway changes throughout the year.
