PAWTUCKET, R.I. -- The Blackstone Valley Tourism Council hosted a sustainable tourism summit Thursday in Pawtucket, getting input on the sustainable tourism concept from travel agents, community planners and conservation activists.
One of the central topics was how to get the most use out of Rhode Island's 400 miles of shoreline while doing the least damage.
Tourism is one of Rhode Island's top industries, generating more than $2 billion annually for the state's economy.
