RUTLAND, Mass. - The family of a Massachusetts college student who died in the Haitian earthquake while on a humanitarian mission is hoping she can help that country's poor, even in death.

Britney Gengel is being remembered at a funeral Mass at St. John's Church in Worcester on Saturday. A private burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.

Her family has asked that instead of flowers, mourners make contributions to Britney Gengel's Poorest of the Poor Fund.

The fund was established to help the poor in Haiti and the U.S.

The 19-year-old Rutland native was a sophomore at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla., who went missing after the Jan. 12 quake.

Her body was found in the rubble of the Hotel Montana in Port-au-Prince last weekend.
