WOODSTOCK, Conn. -- State police said a 66-year-old man shot while in a craft tent at the Woodstock Fair may have been hit by a bullet fired by a policeman.

Troopers have seized the guns of a half dozen Putnam police officers, including Chief Rick Hayes, who were conducting firearms training at the nearby Putnam Fish and Game Club.

Police say the man, from Holland, Mass. suffered a superficial wound when he was shot Monday afternoon. They say they bullet was from a .45-caliber handgun, the type of weapon being used on the
range.

The Putnam department has declined to comment on the incident. State police Lt. J. Paul Vance says there appears to be nothing criminal about the incident.
