EXETER, R.I. - The Rhode Island National Guard Retirees Association dedicated a living memorial Sunday to current guard members.

The living memorial consists of a seven-foot-tall minuteman bronze statue, six benches and a granite base and wall. It is located at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery in Exeter.

The retirees' association said it raised more than $103,000 for the project by selling laser-engraved bricks.

The association is made up of retirees from the Rhode Island Army and Air National Guards.
