RI arts receive $391K in stimulus grants

PROVIDENCE -- Rhode Island arts organizations are receiving more than $391,000 in federal stimulus grants to retain or restore jobs.

The state's congressional delegation and Gov. Don Carcieri awarded the grants Monday.

The grants are part of a state and national program designed to help the 18 arts organizations keep positions that contribute to Rhode Island's economy and culture.
