BOSTON -- A Boston college student is recovering after a piece of ice fell from a building, and landed flush on her head.
Kristen Parris, 22, was walking to class at Suffolk University, when she was hit by falling ice. Parris needed 40 stitches in her head.
School officials say the ice fell from four stories above her. Suffolk University asked its building staff to check all buildings for dangerous amounts of snow and ice buildup.
The University released a statement, saying, "The safety of students and others in and around Suffolk University buildings is of the utmost importance. Suffolk tries to take every measure possible to prevent accidents like this from happening.”
