TAUNTON, Mass. - A North Attleborough driver has been found guilty of killing two pedestrians and the unborn child of one of the victims.

Emily Carson was convicted in Taunton District Court on Wednesday of three counts of misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation and one negligent operation charge.

She was cleared of more serious drunken driving charges.

Prosecutors say Carson was driving south on U.S. Route 1 in North Attleborough when she struck a group of four people crossing the highway in August 2004.

The two women who died were Yan Fan, 28, who was five months pregnant, and Jin Yu Lu, 35.

Fan's widower said through his lawyer he was gratified that

Carson was found responsible. Her lawyer declined comment.

Sentencing is Jan. 13.
