Rescue crews give oxygen to two dogs that were rescued from a burning home on Hope Street in Providence on Dec. 10, 2009.
PROVIDENCE -- Two occupants and four firefighters were hurt early Thursday morning when fire broke out in an East Side apartment house.
Flames hit the Hope Street house at about 12:35 a.m.
Two women inside the home were in fair condition at Rhode Island Hospital.
Three firefighters had minor injuries, but a fourth had second-degree burns to the face.
Two dogs were rescued from the burning home and taken to Warwick Animal Hospital.
The fire caused extenstive damage to the house. Investigators did not immediately know how it started.
