Pedestrian killed on Route 146

NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- A woman was killed early Friday morning on Route 146 in North Smithfield.

Police said 56-year-old Anita Marie Magnifico was walking when she was struck by a car at about 5:30 a.m.

Police said they did not anticipate filing charges against the driver who struck the woman.
