A new plan to generate heat energy from the nation's closed-down coal mines.

Scientists say the mines are a good collector of geothermal heat, and they tunnels can be used to concentrate the heat and process it to heat the communities up above. Researchers say building geothermal boilers in the mines would provide an energy source that would be virtually free of pollution.

The Knob Creek distillery has begun running ads apologizing to its customers for running out of whiskey. The company ages its bourbon for nine years and apparently didn't make enough to keep up with a recent spike in demand.
