Retired chief justice to address CCRI grads

WARWICK, R.I. -- Retired Rhode Island Chief Justice Frank Williams is scheduled to deliver the commencement address at the Community College of Rhode Island.

The Cranston native was appointed chief justice in January 2001 and retired at the end of last year.

Williams is an author and Abraham Lincoln scholar whose speech will commemorate the 200th anniversary of Lincoln's birth.

He is also an Army veteran who served in Germany and Vietnam, rising to the rank of captain.

More than 1,000 students will receive associate degrees and certificates at CCRI graduation ceremonies.
