Hi - I am the Librarian at Barrington High School and wanted to say to all Mike’s young fans out there that Mike is a great STUDENT as well as a football player! He works as hard in the library as he does on the football field!
In my 31 years @ Barrington HS, only 1 former football player reminded me of Mike Read, for his athletic ability, humility on and off the field. His ability to be a real genuine gentleman on and off the field. that player was Jamie Simone who stared as an Eagle running back and Capt. his senior year.He went on to Brown University and played slot back for the bears. Mike reminds me so much of him, He has the same qualities of sportsmanship and competitiveness that many of our youth have lost in this era of superstar athletes who they are exposed to on t.v. Mike, keep up the great work on and off the field, and as you can see, your parents are so proud of you as you can see in this vidio clip so nicely done. Have a great run during your senior year.( no Punn intended!! )Anouncing your games for the past 4 years have been an exciting event for the whole school and all our Eagle fans.Sincierly, COACH J.P.
