I always wondered why the taxpayers had to bear the burden of paying for criminals room and board. But on the other hand - where do they get money to pay for their own. However, I really don’t feel that they should get paid for the jobs they do while they are in prison. That should go toward their room and board. But as usual, in both Mass and RI, the taxpayers always have to pay the piper.
