UNIONDALE, N.Y.—Tim Thomas made 40 saves, and Marc Savard and Martin St. Pierre scored goals to help the Boston Bruins win their fourth straight game, 2-1 over the New York Islanders on Thursday night.

Thomas was on the verge of his fourth shutout of the season, but Bill Guerin swept in a rebound with 53.2 seconds left.

Yann Danis stopped 25 shots for the Islanders, losers of six straight. They haven’t won in January, and have just two wins since the end of November.
