BOSTON—Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers has been named the NBA Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for November.

Rivers on Monday became the third coach since the award was launched in the 1981-82 season to win it three months in a row. He was also named Coach of the Month in March and in April, the final two months of the 2007-2008 season which culminated in Boston’s 17th NBA title.

Rivers guided the Celtics to a 16-2 record during late October and November, pulling off six- and eight-game winning streaks along the way.

The Celtics, who surrendered an NBA-low 90.1 points per game, were 10-0 in contests where the opposition tallied 89 or fewer points.
