NEW YORK—Cuban defector and left-handed pitcher Aroldis Chapman has arrived on U.S. soil.

Both the Red Sox and the Yankees are expected to push hard to sign Chapman, whose first stop on his U.S. tour of teams was New York.

The Boston Herald reports neither the Sox, nor his agent based in Boston, have commented on his plans.
