FOXBOROUGH, Mass.—The Patriots are preparing to face another impressive young quarterback after losing to the Jets and rookie Mark Sanchez.

On Sunday, New England’s defense will try to stop Atlanta’s Matt Ryan, who had an outstanding rookie season last year. And this year he has tight end Tony Gonzalez, who already has two touchdowns with the Falcons. Gonzalez played 12 seasons with Kansas City.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick said Tuesday that if defenses focus on Gonzalez, the Falcons can get the ball to running back Michael Turner and receivers Roddy White and Michael Jenkins.

Atlanta is 2-0 with wins over Miami and Carolina. The Patriots are 1-1 after beating Buffalo and losing to the Jets.
