Lowrie makes ALDS roster

ANAHEIM, Calif.—The Boston Red Sox will use Jed Lowrie as their backup middle infielder for the AL divisional series with the Angels opening Thursday in California.
At the same time, the team isn’t sure about Rocco Baldelli’s status after he injured his left hip on Friday. Rosters aren’t due until 1 p.m. EST.
