Democratic chair given basketball honor

PAWTUCKET, R.I.—The chairman of Rhode Island’s Democratic Party is being inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame.
Bill Lynch played at Saint Raphael Academy in Pawtucket and captained the basketball team at Brandeis University. He also played professionally in Ireland.
The induction ceremony is October 9 at the Mohegan Sun casino in Connecticut.
Lynch’s brother, Rhode Island Attorney General Patrick Lynch, who played at Brown University, is already a member of the New England Basketball Hall of Fame.
