HARTFORD, Conn.—The Big East has announced an agreement that will give the Champs Sports Bowl the choice of any conference team not headed to a Bowl Championship Series game, starting next
football season.

The conference and the bowl announced the four-year agreement on Tuesday.

The Big East’s No. 2 had gone to the Gator or Sun Bowls in a deal that also involved the Big 12 and Notre Dame. That agreement ends after this season.

Under the new deal, the Champs Sports Bowl will be able to select Notre Dame once during the next four years.

The Big East champion goes to a BCS Bowl. This season, the runner-up will head to the Gator Bowl. The league also has tie-ins to the Meineke Bowl, International Bowl, Papajohns.com Bowl and St.
Petersburg Bowl.
