FOXBOROUGH, Mass.—Former New England Patriots wide receiver Deion Branch is confident Tom Brady will make a solid comeback from his season-ending knee injury.

Branch spent four seasons as Brady’s teammate in New England and was named MVP in the 2004 Super Bowl. The Patriots traded him to Seattle after the 2006 opener while he was holding out for a new contract.

New England visits the Seahawks on Sunday.

Branch said Wednesday that he talks and exchanges text messages with Brady frequently, and the quarterback’s strong mental outlook will allow him to prevail.

Brady tore two ligaments in his season opener. At the time, Branch was in the final stages of his recovery from a torn ligament in his left knee.
