Voters in Woonsocket will trim the list of candidates for the mayor’s office on Tuesday.

The city will hold a non-partisan primary election.  The Providence Journal reported that the polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Incumbent Susan Menard is not running for re-election after serving seven consecutive terms.

There are four names on the ballot. The top two finishers will face each other in the Nov. 3 general election.

The contenders are businessman Steven Lima, City Council President Leo Fontaine, retired detective Todd Brien and security professional Michael Mello.

Brien has run twice before for mayor.  This is Mello’s second campaign for the office.
