The Call of Woonsocket that even more candidates could file before the declaration period closes Aug. 25.

The announced candidates are businessman Steven Lima, Council President Leo Fontaine, retired detective Todd Brien and security professional Michael Mello.

A primary will be held Oct. 6 to cut the field to two candidates who will run in the Nov. 3 general election.

The wild card could be seven-term Mayor Susan Menard.  She says she’s not running for re-election, but she could change her mind.

Lima for Mayor.  We need a change and a fresh start.  Lima can give that to us.  Vote yes on Lima on Oct. 6
