PROVIDENCE - A national tour calling for reform of the federal immigration system kicked off in Providence on Friday.

U.S. Rep. Luis Gutierrez, D-Ill., is spearheading the National Family Unity Campaign for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus to hear stories from immigrants at stops at more than a dozen churches across the country.

Gutierrez said the current laws and harsh enforcement is devastating to families.

He and other lawmakers and advocates want President Barack Obama to prioritize immigration reform.

They want a way for the nation’s estimated 12 million illegal immigrants to earn legal residency by agreeing to pay taxes, learn English and pay a fine.

yes its a shame that america has become so overcrowded with welfare leeches that are illegal aliens.People talk about ending world hunger and all the “worlds” problems. Iam not a big fan of FDR’s “Isolationism “ but ah, lets be realistic, America has more than its fair share of problems that even now we cant seem to fix! How about we come together as one nation and end poverty in the united states in 10 years? But alas this will most likely never happen because money talks to the politicians all day. They are no better liars then “johnny Cochren” and they arn’t fooling me.All i have to say is press 1 for english press 2 for espanol. First of all if you move here LEARN THE LANGUAGE! We should not cater to these slimebags who cross our borders and flood our markets with free/cheap labor and take money out of OUR POCKETS. They are robbing us blind. The human rights activists will tell you all day we are trampling on them and we are bias. Why you ask? Well its no secret that if you jump the border and have a kid they get to stay here for free. Most of them are poor , then they get welfare. While HARD WORKING americans continue to get laid off every day and are losing there homes to foreclosure! Then when they apply for government benefits that where designed for us hard working folks, we have trouble getting them.Absolutely outrageous! Some people have some kind of messed up opinion that americans are too lazy and lethargic to do these jobs such as work on farms etc. If indeed this is true, then pick up the homeless people of our country and give them a job! This would work wonders for them and us.Obviously some of them are drunks who dont want to be helped. Maybe so but the majority , Given the opportunity would rise to the occasion for a new life! Years ago this was not true, we had the industrial revolution and there were thousands of new jobs available. Today this is not the case we have outsourced all of our factory work to the brink of disaster, but that’s a different topic.
The Point is that we have way too many illegals coming here to our nation. They are undercutting and overpowering our ways to care for the poor. WE do not need these useless people. In my opinion i believe we should look to Australia , and there immigration policies. The bottom line is something must be done, because our country is falling apart!

Good day to you!

ENEMIES OF THE PEOPLE!

Those politicians and officials whom THE PEOPLE elected across this great nation and who betrayed us in the name of corporate contributions. They must be jettisoned out of office next time. Select those in government who favored illegal foreign labor over American workers, and broadcast it nationwide. The list is long that includes Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV), Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA),  who erased E-Verify from the Stimulus. -

Congressmen Luis V. Gutierrez (D-IL) and Jeff Flake (R-AZ), George Radanovich (R-CA), Congressman Joseph Crowley (D-NY who up to their necks in immigration reform, that would give the 40 million (Stated Heritage Foundation)  AMNESTY, not 11 Million stated 7 years ago?  The bill, the STRIVE Act of 2007 (Security Through Regularized Immigration and a Vibrant Economy) Yes! that means citizens and legal residents will be competing for work. Just because they illegally settled here, doesn’t make them legal? Thousands took the legal path, while hundreds of thousands wait for an entry visa. Not jumping the line and expect clemency.

Sen.Diane Feinstein (D-CA) who set the stage for the first Sanctuary City.  Pro-illegal alien mayors like Antonio Villaraigosa in Los Angeles, Galvin Newsom of San Francisco have brought upon this state a 47 billion dollar budget crash, which now they expect the taxpayers to bail them out. We need new Mayors we can trust as, WALTER MOORE, who will KILL LOS ANGELES ‘SANCTUARY’ CITY POLICY.

We need Mayors, judges or other elected officials that will be spending your money, to support the taxpayers—not the settlement of illegal aliens.

American Workers want a mandatory E-Verify used by every business in America. They want Federal 247 (g) program, for trained police to arrest and detain illegal aliens. We want the borders sealed as contained in HR. 6061. Compromised behind closed doors by cutting funding.

JUDICIAL WATCH.ORG, supports E-Verify to stop illegal aliens in the workplace. They are a legal watchdog group to halt illegal immigration and government corruption—collusion with foreign nations. We don’t need reform. We need ENFORCEMENT.
Guitierrez is an idiot. How is giving illegals free healthcare, schooling, housing, and welfare harsh?
We need to make it more harsh so that the don’t come here ILlegally.
We need to enforce the laws and send them home. This will allow us to take in more of those who want to come here legally.
