Preliminary Nielsen estimates show that 29.2% of U.S. households were watching the presidential inauguration—easily the largest in decades but below the 37.4 household rating for Reagan. Obama’s figures include viewership on roughly 15 broadcast and cable networks, while the Reagan ceremony was viewed only on ABC, CBS and NBC
American idol even beat the Obama inauguration coverage in the ratings.

I’m not bitter. I just want the media to do their jobs and tell the truth.
Fact
Obama = 37.8 million viewers
Reagan = 41.8 million viewers
Reagan got 4 million (over 10%) viewers than Obama

The media has every reason to “hype” this up - it is indeed an historic event. Far more people were at this inauguration than Reagan’s that is a FACT. History was made - why so bitter!
Stop calling these crowds so historic. The media kept hyping this up to be 4 million people but now the estimates are 800.000 to 1.8 million. More people watched the inauguration of Ronald Reagan than Obama. Stop trying to mislead the people. Facts trump hype. This is why the people don’t trust the mainstream media and NBC in particular.
