Recounts ordered in 2 races

PROVIDENCE—The state Board of Elections will recount the ballots in two close races, one in Warwick and the other in West Warwick.
The recounts, set for Friday, come after the state Supreme Court ordered election officials to recount all the provisional, mail-in and regular ballots cast in the Democratic primary between state Sen. Stephen Alves and challenger Michael Pinga in District 9.
The board must also recount ballots in a Democratic primary between Senate candidates Erin Lynch and David Bennett in Warwick. Lynch won by a narrow margin.
Pinga, a former Republican, changed parties this year and apparently beat Alves, a powerful incumbent, in September’s primary. An earlier recount showed Pinga winning by 19 votes. At the time, the board did not recount mail-in and provisional ballots.

How typical, Mr (I refuse to call him senator) Alves shows the attitude of most that wander the halls of either the House or Senate. It’s like they have a God-Given right (or something) to occupy that seat and Lord help any Election Board (Or dare say an Election) which says differently!
... His facial expression said it all; stone-faced to the extreme, totally devoid of any compassion. His rage was quite apparent, and his continued waisting of the taxpayers dollar in his quest to overturn an election that didn’t go his way speaks volumes.
... The voters have spoken; but like voter inititive, non-binding voter referendum questions and the continuing efforts to gag the Governor, we see these guys have no intention to listening to either their constituants, voters or even the Board of Elections.
