Providence mayor’s brother seeks early release

PROVIDENCE—The brother of Providence Mayor David Cicilline will ask a federal magistrate judge in Boston later this month to release him early from prison.
John M. Cicilline,a now-disbarred attorney, was sentenced to 18 months in prison in September 2008 after pleading guilty to shaking down drug-dealer clients in Massachusetts. He’s scheduled for release in February, but wants to be freed earlier.
He says his three teenage daughters have been having problems during his time away. He also says his blood pressure became elevated in prison since he didn’t have his medication.
Federal prosecutors have objected to the request.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert Collings said Thursday he will hear arguments on Nov. 19.

This is more political CRAP!!!! Any inmate is provided required medication if perscribed by a doctor. If his blood pressure is elevated and he is seen in the infirmary medication would be provided. His daughters just have to deal with the fact that daddy is a criminal and get over it. Why should he get out - because he is(was) a FAT CAT lawyer. It is extremly annoying that persons that have been in the “spotlight” feel they deserve prefferincal treatment. Stay in jail like the rest of the criminals. If you are going to be paroled that is a different story. Just suck it up
