BOSTON—Supporters and opponents of three ballot questions are making their final pitch with less than a day before the election with rallies, phone calls, e-mails and ads.

U.S. Sen. John Kerry and Republican challenger Jeff Beatty also were wrapping up their campaigns Monday with final voter appeals.

Backers of Question One, which would eliminate the state income tax, asked supporters to hold signs and post videos online while critics worked a phone bank and planned an evening rally.

Supporters of a question decriminalizing small amounts of pot said some clergy members backed the measure while critics released a statement by Attorney General Martha Coakley condemning it.

Animal activists rallied in favor of a question banning dog racing, while track owners backed an ad saying it would cost jobs.
