Seven Democrats are facing off in a special primary election being held Tuesday in Providence.

They are contenders for the House District 10 seat left vacant by Thomas Slater, who died earlier this year.

The Democrats will appear in this order on the ballot:

Scott Slater, who is running for his father’s seat.  He is the endorsed Democratic candidate.

Rafael Colon Jr.

John Kelly

Ana Quezada

Raymond Tomasso

Jenny Jourdain

Ramon Perez

The winner will face one Republican and three independents in a special election to be held Nov. 10.

House District 10 stretches from the edges of the Armory District to Roger Williams Park, according to the secretary of state.
