BOSTON—Barney Frank has fended off two challengers to win re-election to the House.

The Massachusetts Democrat defeated Republican Early Sholley from Norfolk and Susan Allen from Brookline.

Frank used his role as chairman of the House Financial Services Committee to tell voters how he would lead regulatory reform and oversee the nation’s recovery from its financial and housing crises.

Allen accused Frank of not standing up to the Bush administration. Sholley said Frank was architect of both collapses he wants to fix.

The three other House Democrats with challengers in Massachusetts also won re-election: John Olver, John Tierney and Edward Markey.
