Former Carcieri staffer joins RNC

PROVIDENCE—A former staffer for Gov. Don Carcieri has been selected as chief of staff for the Republican National Committee.
Republican officials said Thursday that Ken McKay, Carcieri’s former chief of staff, will take on the same post for the RNC.

Party chairman Michael Steele credited McKay for running Carcieri’s winning campaigns in one of the most heavily Democratic states in the nation. McKay also served as Carcieri’s chief of staff.
In his new post, McKay will oversee day-to-day operations, including personnel and resources.
