Retirement board suspends DiMasi’s pension
Published: October 29, 2009
BOSTON—The Massachusetts Retirement Board is suspending the $5,000-per-month state pension of former House Speaker Salvatore DiMasi pending the conclusion of his public corruption case.
DiMasi has argued that denial of his pension is causing a financial hardship and that it is a violation of his due process rights.
State Treasurer Timothy Cahill suspended DiMasi’s pension after he was indicted in June.
The board voted to suspend the pension as of Nov. 1, meaning DiMasi will receive about $25,000 in back pension payments.
DiMasi and three associates are charged in an alleged bid-rigging scheme for a state software contract that prosecutors say netted the former speaker $57,000. He stepped down in January.
DiMasi has denied any wrongdoing.

Too bad about the financial hardship. You rigged bids and caused other people the same. Now hopefully you will get jail time to go with your actions. You are one arrogant SOB.
