McCains’ mom visits Newport

NEWPORT, R.I. -- Just as the Democratic National Convention gets under way a famous Republican will be in Newport. On the Republican side John McCain's mother is in town trying to raise money for her son.

Roberta McCain, 96, is hosting a fundraiser at the New York Yacht Club in Newport. The cost to attend the event is $10,000 a plate.

John McCain will appear on the "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on Monday evening.
