COVENTRY, R.I. - Authorities have identified the Coventry woman found dead in her home last weekend.

Sgt. John Shields said police went to the home on Saturday morning to conduct a well-being check at the request of a family member.

They found 34-year-old Shelly Gardner dead and her husband, 33-year-old Ronald Gardner, "unresponsive." He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

A spokeswoman from the state medical examiner's office said Monday the department is still determining a cause of death for Shelly Gardner.

Police are still investigating but Shields said foul play is not suspected.
