FAIRHAVEN, Mass.—An 18-year-old was hospitalized Wednesday morning after police said he jumped from the roof of a high school.

Police said the teenage boy, whose name has not been released, managed to get up on to the roof at Fairhaven High School.

Officers told NBC 10 that they tried to talk him down from the ledge he was on, but he jumped. Police said the teen fell about 40 feet.

Police said the teen was not a student at the school.

School staff members said they were able to keep students away from the area.

Police said the teen was rescued from the same spot a month ago.

The latest I’ve heard, according to southcoasttoday.com, is that he’s on life support and has brain damage. It’s not looking too good for him. Very sad story, I wish he had gotten help before it came to all this.

Wow a 40 ft fall, if he didn’t have problems before he jumped he sure does now.  Hope he is okay and can get some help for the depression that made him feel he had to try to end his life this way.  Remember if your having thoughts of suicide, things sometimes have to get worse before they can get better but they always end up getting better, just try to keep your chin up, a good day will come soon, and don’t be afraid to open up to someone.  Talking can help.

THANK YOU lovinlife.  Things don’t usually get to me but when your talking about an 18 year fighting for his life it gets to me!!!  I’ve read alot of his posts and he usually isn’t so inconsiderate.

Lori, I think that was Tony’s attempt at being funny.  However, he picked the wrong post to try to be funny.  A young boy is fighting for his life…..his parents must be a wreck and this DING-A-Ling wants to try to be funny with his political views on this post.  I hope to God this one didn’t reproduce!  wink

Tony 146 you must be the biggest MORON the Republicans have with comments like that, now you know why people don’t want to be associated or vote for your Republican CRACKPOTS. We won’t see an Obama bill for another ten years the bill he saw was Republicans Bush /Cheney .
