School participates in day-long writing marathon

NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I.—Students and faculty at North Providence High School on Tuesday participated in a day-long writing marathon.

The exercise was in honor of National Writing Day.

Congress declared Oct. 20 National Writing Day earlier this year. The goal of the day is to encourage students to explain the significance of writing in our daily lives.

It was the first time the school participated in a large-scale writing marathon and the school plans to make it an annual event.
