Parents promise fight for Foster principal

FOSTER, R.I.—Parents in Foster say they won’t let a popular principal lose his job without a fight.

The school committee was forced to move into a larger meeting space Tuesday when more than 60 people showed up to discuss the future of Gary Moore, principal of the Capt. Isaac Paine Elementary School.

Committee Chairman Ron Cervasio said the principal’s position needs to be combined with the superintendent’s job to save money.

But some parents said they think the chairman has a personal agenda and just wants to get rid of a principal they want to keep.

The school committee plans more hearings on the issue.

It boggles my mind that people havn’t demanded Ron Cervasio step down from his position. He is underqualified and is only out for personal gain. Moore is a straight shooter and a good principal but he doesn’t fit into Cervasio’s little plans so he found a way to eliminate him. I"m glad the news crew was there to help call him out on his unfair behavior.

Ron Cervasio is the “Town Clown”.  He disrupts every town meeting he attends.  When the shoe is on the other foot, however, it’s a different story.  At yesterday’s meeting he held voter comments to under 1 minute, threatening to have people removed from the building.  Everyone knows it’s a personal vendetta.  Now the town is without a priciple and superintendant.  Great move in this tough fiscal environment!

He isn’t very smart and everyone is completely against him.
